Martina McBride Crazy About Patsy Cline’s “Crazy”

Nightline now has a segment called Nightline Playlist and they let the person they’re interviewing do all the talking. In this story with Martina McBride, she raves about the music she loves for a good five minutes. She spends the first minute talking about what a career song “Independence Day” was for her and how important it was for her to not record fluffy girl songs or novelty songs. But then she goes on to list what’s at the very top of her playlist from other artists. And they are: “Crazy” by Patsy Cline, “Mad Love” by Linda Ronstadt, “Respect” by Aretha Franklin, “Friends in Low Place” by Garth Brooks and “Somewhere Over the Raindow,” the Eva Cassidy version. “I never get tired of it,” McBride says of the song she sings so well in concert.

Kid Rock Shares “Care” With Martina McBride, T.I.

There are very few details available about the upcoming Kid Rock/Martina McBride/T.I. collaboration. But here’s what we do know: The trio has recorded a song called “Care” together. McBride talked about it during an industry summit last week in Nashville. “It seems like an odd pairing, but I love that he sees the real redneck in me,” she said. She went on to explain that Rock sings the first verse, she sings the second and T.I. sings the third. “Crazy, but it’s really uplifting and it’s a cool melody and it feels good. It makes sense. If I was rapping the third verse, that would not make sense,” she added. That kind of makes me wonder what that third verse is all about. I’ve also heard that the song is about Detroit’s struggling economy. We’ll have to wait for Kid Rock’s next album, Born Free, to hit the streets in early September before we know more.

Martina McBride, YWCA Bid You Good Luck

The YWCA does so much to help families who are struggling to get out of abusive situations. Auction off some really special belongings from some of the coolest country stars in the business. Martina McBride is once again hosting the27th Annual YWCA Celebrity Auction this Sunday (June 13) from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. So if you want to get your hands on things from McBride, a cowboy hat from Brad Paisley, lyrics to “When I Get Where I’m Going,” meet-and-greet passes to a Keith Urban show or a framed autographed photo of Rascal Flatts, head over to the Hall of Fame Park behind the downtown Hilton. Admission is free, but you’ll definitely want to bring cash, a check book or a credit card in case you’re the highest bidder. Good luck!
